We’re delighted to be hosting our last wine tasting event of the Summer, on Wednesday 7th September @ 7.30pm, with Mike Allan, owner and winemaker at Huia Organic Winery in Marlborough, New Zealand. Needless to say there will be lots of delicious wines and food to taste as well as stories about the family and people behind this incredible vineyard.
Huia Vineyards use no pesticides, insecticides or herbicides in their vineyards and during the wine making process eliminate the use of artificial additives leaving the wine full of natural texture. As well as eliminating artificial additives to the soil and process Huia integrate biodynamic growing into their vineyard organic programme; animals graze on their vineyard blocks while the diversity of wildflowers, trees and other plants keep their resident beehives busy. And, like all passionate people who care for their environment all the waste from the winery and vineyard is composted.
In this Kiwi vineyard the sustainability of the land and surrounding ecosystem are supported and respected while each member of the team strives to use natural methods in both the vineyard management and wine making process.
Tickets are €25 and there are only 22 left so get down to Salt pronto and buy yourself a seat at what promises to be a fantastic night of food and wine.
